Know Your Risk

What is Know Your Risk?

Know Your Risk is our trusted online tool that will help you understand your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

There are an estimated 6.3 million people in the UK at an increased risk of type 2 diabetes based on blood sugar levels. And we know that the sooner type 2 diabetes is diagnosed, the sooner it can be treated and the better the impact on health.

We’ve helped over 3 million people to understand their risk – help us to help you understand yours and begin to take steps to manage it.

How do I find out my risk?

Finding out your risk is simple and should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

We’ll ask you a few simple questions and use your answers, combined with what research tells us about type 2 diabetes risk factors, to calculate whether you’re low, medium, high or very high risk.

What happens next?

Depending on your results, we’ll use our knowledge of type 2 diabetes to help you with what to do next - whether that’s providing you with further information or giving you a letter to take to your GP.

We can also send you a personalised collection of emails to help you understand more about your risk level and how you can reduce it if necessary. Simply enter your email address into the relevant box at the end.

Whatever your results are, we’re by your side.

What will I need?

Before we get started, make sure you’ve got the following to hand. You’ll need these to answer the questions throughout:

  • A tape measure
  • Weighing scales
